The view of a lotus field, dried up, broken, tangled, and frozen in the cold winter, almost
seems like an abstract painting. In the simple and unpretentious nature of things I often
overlook, I sometimes discover an unfathomable, profound beauty. Rather than the
wildness of nature being confined within form and repetition, sometimes it encourages
the awareness of freedom. Above all, what captured my attention in the winter lotus field
was the free-spirited forms of the bent stems, which did not appear to be clear patterns
but instead evoked the impression of a kind random abstract music.
